Photo Tours

Lori Diemer Photo Tours offer photographers the opportunity to experience the joy of traveling for the sole purpose of taking photos.  Lori will guide participants to places she is familiar with, at the best time of year to be there. Unlike traditional photographic workshops, with mid-day lectures and instruction, her tours will emphasize exploring locations with optional instruction “in the field”. Mid-day will find participants downloading images, sharing and critiquing. Lori Diemer Photo Tours are designed for a maximum of 10 participants. A small group size allows for more casual sharing of ideas, tips and tricks amongst one another, and easier access to quaint locations.

These tours are designed specifically for photographers who want a break from the traditional workshop experience. Participants should have a good working knowledge of their camera system, and be comfortable using popular editing, and workflow, software.

"Lori takes exceptionally beautiful macro images, and I learned a lot from her in the field as we spent an hour of concentrated work at one iris bed."   Judy R.

"Lori is one of the most patient photography teachers I have ever met.  She will share ANYTHING she knows openly with all who ask. She is a great trip planner, also. Those two skills together make for a truly unforgettable experience any
time you travel with her".    Michelle D.

"As a photographer, you cannot beat Lori's tours.  Off the beaten path, away from the crowds, technique instruction-it's all there and cannot be surpassed."
 Ginny S.

"Thanks to Lori, I came away with many wonderful images, yet didn't leave feeling exhausted, as I did with other photo tours.  All members of the tour felt relaxed, and received personal attention.  Great Experience! I look forward to the next photo tour."

TULIP MANIA! The Canadian Tulip Festival

May 18 - 22, 2020
Tour starts 4:00pm May 18 and ends May 22 11:00am

TULIP MANIA!The Canadian Tulip Festival.

May 18-22, 2020 Ottowa, Ontario Canada

With Lori Diemer and Cynthia Sutcliffe

Lori and Cynthia are very excited to offer this tour to one of the world's largest Tulip Festivals.  With over 1 million bulbs blooming in May, the parks and gardens of Ottowa become a colorful mosaic. We are timing this tour for the week after the city wide festival, in order to avoid the massive crowds. Barring any extreme weather, the tulips will still be in peak bloom.

"The Canadian Tulip Festival was established to celebrate the historic Royal gift of tulips from the Dutch to Canadians immediately following the Second World War as a symbol of international friendship. The Festival preserves the memorable role of the Canadian troops in the liberation of the Netherlands and Europe, as well as commemorates the birth of Dutch Princess Margriet in Ottawa during World War II—the only royal personage ever born in Canada." (

In addition to tulips, participants will have the opportunity to photograph architecture, manicured public gardens, street, and night photography. Lori and Cynthia will also be bringing light boxes and textured glass set-ups in case of inclement weather during the tour.

Cynthia Sutcliffe is an avid photographer and studied Horticulture and Floral Design. She was the International Floral Program Coordinator(Canadian Tulip Festival 2000), and served on the Floral Program Board for 3 more years.  Cynthia is a lifelong resident of Ottowa.
